With the onset of summer, visitors are always a welcome change. No one wants to travel in the wintertime, especially if it's cold where they're coming to. That being the case, summer in the White Mountains is a beautiful time of year. Monsoons almost every day which cool things down, and sometimes make it muggy, weather is perfect, outside projects to be done. Well this year is no different.
Our summer ventures started with painting the decks AGAIN!!! We finally switched to a paint rather than a stain on the recommendation of the painters because it will hold up better. Hopefully we can get 3-4 years of wear before we have to do it again. So, goodbye to the beautiful woodgrained redwood that we so dearly loved. Of course we still have the beautiful wood above the deck on the underside of the roof. Ah, fond memories. It does look good, however, but paint isn't what we bargained for. Live and learn. We might have gone for the Trex-deck if we knew really how much staining would take out of us, or should I say Gary. He's the trooper here, I just can't get into it.
