Our good friends, Judy and Keith, wanted to take the girls to the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. They have this real compfy van and we all fit perfectly. This place is unbelieveable. We've never been there before, and we hiked the trails and saw some beautiful petrified wood. It's amazing how nature has preserved these trees, even though they are dwindling. Apparently they have about one million pounds stolen every year, even with the strict monitoring of the area. It's just beautiful to look. It was a beautiful day, a little warm at times. We took a picnic lunch and ate along the road. I think the girls enjoyed this day.
