Even in retirement, it's busy. Don't let anyone tell you different. You still have "chores" to do, shopping, keeping in touch with friends, but most of all your time is your own and you make things happen.
We are busy every week, especially fall through spring. Gary plays "old people" softball on Thursdays; does hiking on Wednesdays with the seniors (and don't think they can't hike. The ring leader is 75 and they can't keep up with her); we bowl together on the same league on Tuesdays (different teams so we don't bicker) and I bowl on a ladies league on Wednesdays.
I've taken up quilting in my spare time, and there really is plenty of that. I love creating my masterpieces and giving them to loved ones. So far that's all I've been able to do is share with family. Someday, when they get tired of my quilts, I'll probably share with my good friends.
I know I'm bad about keeping this blog up, so it's already January 2008. We spent 18 days in Colorado with the kids and grandkids for the holidays. We enjoyed seeing friends and family. Jordyn is quite the young lady. She is a freshman in high school, attending Eaglecrest where Jeff went. She bowls, does hip-hop dance, and especially love time with her friends.
Delaney who is now 21 months old is going to be a big sister. Renee is pregnant and due in April. Renee is doing well so far with the pregnancy, and is enjoying Delaney. Delaney is an active little girl, far more advanced than her 21 months of age. We had so much fun with her for 18 days, and it was hard to leave her. We talk almost every day of the work week while Renee heads home from school. Delaney is always babbling in the background.
We drove to Albuquerque which is headed in the right direction of Colorado, flew into Denver and Renee and Delaney picked us up. We hit the road running since we hadn't done any shopping and Christmas was getting near. We managed to get it all done, spend time with good friends and the family. We thought it was easier for us to travel to Denver than to have everyone uprooted and come to Arizona. We'll do that again next year too, but after that it's anybody's guess what we will do.

Delaney Marie turns "One"
On March 28, 2007 Delaney Marie turned one year old. We went for a visit and help her celebrate. What fun that was. She hadn't started walking quite then, but was very close. What a party, lots of gifts and lots of people to help her celebrate turning one year old.

From Portland to Elkton via the coast
We traveled from Portland to Elkton via the coast on the way to Jason and Kelly's wedding. We stopped in Depot Bay for lunch and had some great clam chowder. It was pretty overcast and cool along the coast. We even saw some whales close to shore, fisherman feeding the seals the scraps, and beautiful waves.
